Anxiety During Pregnancy – What Worries Her?

February 14th, 2012

Many tend to ignore anxiety during pregnancy, as common and regular. If one understands why a woman starts worrying during her pregnancy, they may be able to help themselves or others to have a stress free pregnancy. Most cases of anxiety, are due to the fact that they do not want to accept the bodily changes that follow during a pregnancy. Stretch marks appear, hourglass figure is gone, nausea makes them physically weak, thus making them weaker emotionally as well. Hormonal changes contribute their bit, in making them anxious as ever. Although anxiety attacks during pregnancy is common, it should not be taken for granted.

Having a close acquaintance or friend during this stage, makes coping anxiety during pregnancy easy. It is not ideal to expect complete support from their partner, because they have their own fears that they tend to suppress. It is observed that, couple who stay alone and are left to manage everything independently, are stressed out more when compared to the ones who have a family member to take care of. Few women get anxious when they are unable to manage tasks they once used to manage at work and at home so adeptly, but they should understand that this phase is only temporary, and give themselves deserved rest and time, to avoid anxiety during pregnancy with hectic work schedules.

There are cases of anxiety during pregnancy, when they have all the time and no work to indulge into. Since they are free all the time, they tend to start worrying about baby’s health, growth, about life after baby’s arrival, about getting back into shape, etc. These worry circles grow upon each other and tend to depress them more. This sort of anxiety during pregnancy will ease when they have friends to talk to. Using their free time to indulge in social networking and knowing more about pregnancy, puts all worries to rest. If the anxiety is due to baby’s growth, it is better to have a chat with their gynecologist. Best way to deal with anxiety during pregnancy, is to talk it out.

Anxiety during pregnancy may also affect growth of the baby. So it is good to have a strong body and mind. A woman who resolves to keep herself fit with permissible exercises and work out regimes during her pregnancy, will rarely succumb to anxiety and its attacks. They are the ones who bounce back to their usual self easily after baby’s arrival. Lack of sleep or nourishment or lack of work out, may all cause anxiety during pregnancy.

Doctors do not want to prescribe medications to treat anxiety during pregnancy, as it may harm the fetus. Breathing techniques and yoga are advised by the Obstetrician, along with a healthy diet and walking. Indulging in their hobbies is a good way to divert worrying thoughts. Women may want to write down all the worries in exercise sheets. This exercise sheet should have worries and its prescribed solutions. By maintaining the record for anxiety during pregnancy and observing its pattern, one can probably gain control over it.

Is It Okay to Drink Alcohol with Citalopram?

February 9th, 2012

This drug called citalopram is usually popular with people having psychological disorders, particularly clinical depression. Its not a medication that you can just take on your own because you should get your doctors advice and prescription on the same. Moreover, citalopram has inherent side-effects which although not harmful, should be taken into consideration when you are still being prescribed with the drug. The one thing you should never do is engage in activities that would enhance these side-effects like drinking alcohol. Both citalopram and alcohol are drugs that target the same chemicals in the brain. When you take them together in unregulated dosages, this will increase bouts of depression and anxiety, fuel other psychological symptoms, and lead to severe complications. Note that you can actually still drink alcoholic beverages while taking citalopram but you shouldnt do it without consulting your doctor. You have to make sure that you are not going overboard on alcohol consumption while being on medication.

Why Don’t More Celebrities Take Alcohol Awareness Classes?

February 1st, 2012

It’s a well know fact that many celebrities have drug or drinking problems. You can’t pick up a tabloid magazine or go to a celebrity gossip website without reading about some actor who was arrested for a DUI. Or you might watch an online video of a famous actress stumbling into the gutter in front of a Hollywood nightclub.

Wouldn’t it be better if these talented people who make their living by entertaining learn something about their addiction problems? Wouldn’t it be great if there was a reality TV show where they talked about their experience taking alcohol awareness classes? Wouldn’t it be inspiring to read about actors and accresses who are learning something about themselves and at the same time inspiring their fans?

Sure that’s far fetched. Some people can never change and are happy acting stupid and drunk for years. That is until they realize that their acting career also went down the tubes.

An Expert Dentist in Doncaster

January 28th, 2012

Cheesy Pick-Up Lines - Empty Closets - A safe online community for gay ...I have been looking for a dentist in Doncaster to help repair my mom’s dentures. Before we moved to Doncaster, mom had her lower incisors removed at a local dental office in our place. Prosthetic teeth were used to replace the extracted ones for cosmetic reasons. Lately, she’s been complaining of an uncomfortable feeling while eating and when drinking hot or cold beverages. She’s lost her appetite because of it. Seeing the effects of her bothersome dentures, I advised her to seek help from a dentist at a cosmetic dental clinic. Mom agreed with me, but on one condition: I should accompany her during the check-up. She’s been afraid of dentists ever since she was a kid.

As a referral from a colleague of mine, I booked mom for an appointment with Dr. Al in Doncaster. I was with her all the way to lessen her anxiety. Dr. Al told mom that her dentures needed to be replaced with new ones. A root canal operation was performed on the affected gums to help her avoid that uncomfortable feeling when eating and drinking. A measurement of the new dentures was done afterwards. In a week’s time, mom’s new prosthetic teeth were finished and ready for use. She felt better after the treatment of her gums and her dentures.

Emergency Management of Food Poisoning

January 26th, 2012

Waiting for their condition to get worse is what most people do before going to a doctor. For food poisoning cases, this may prove to be very life threatening. Food poisoning like that of salmonella infection does not really require any specific salmonella treatment. However, if left untreated it may cause serious complications that may become fatal. Emergency management for severe dehydration will probably be done in a hospital. This will include infusion of intravenous fluids. These fluids are directly introduced to your veins. It has a faster absorption rate as compared to taking it in orally. It can also encourage fluids in other parts of your body to temporarily shift to parts that need it the most. Doctors may also recommend using antibiotics, especially if you have compromised immune systems or if the bacteria have migrated into your bloodstream. Anti-diarrheals will also be given to temporarily stop your electrolyte and fluid loss caused by diarrhea.
